The first cohort of graduating students from the BA(Hons) Textiles Practice degree at Bradford College present their Major Projects at this exciting and dynamic year end show.
This exhibition showcases work by the four students, incorporating themes of self-awareness, displacement from home, self-perception and the impact of the colonial past within textiles.
The work shows a diverse range of textile and mixed media approaches, including weaving, use of repurposed materials, surface design, ceramics, wire work, and 3-D constructed and sculptural textiles.

Graduating textile artists from Bradford School of Art exhibited the work leading to their final major project artwork. These fine art, contemporary works cover themes of self-awareness, self perception, displacement and the impact of the colonial past in modern day textiles. These themes were explored through a diverse range of media and approaches including weaving, ceramics, repurposed materials , 3-D wire work and sculptural textiles.

I have two quilts in the exhibition at Festival of Quilts.

Uprooted (above) which will be on display on the outside of the Quilt Collection Gallery. There is more about that in this blog post.
But my scrap box is still full (right) Started in March 2020 when I couldn’t do anything more creative than stitch scraps together. These blocks languished in a box until I needed to practice using my Moxie Long Arm machine, then I managed to finish it.

I was shortlisted for the Quilters’ Guild Graduate Bursary and my work was on display in the Graduate Showcase in Hall 7 at the Festival of Quilts.

No one should die, created for the Sustainability category at Festival of Quilts 2023. The quilt was a response to the tenth anniversary of the Rana Plaza Factory Collapse.
