Newspaper headlines from October 2025.
These headlines are from October 2025. There is clear evidence that the climate is changing, global temperature is rising, CO2 in the atmosphere continues to rise, and everyone is experiencing more extreme weather. However Trump leads the way in refusing to accept the evidence and the need for action.
In a previous life I was a science educator and physics teacher. I developed teaching resources to teach about climate change, its causes and effects. Whilst we as individuals can do our bit, drive less, use public transport, and turn down the thermostat, it really needs governments to step up and be brave. No more new gas and oil fields, stop extracting coal, and switch to renewable energy supplies as rapidly as possible. This is not just a climate issue, it is also about social justice.
Trying a different way of making the banner. This was ‘stitched from the back’, using a heavier weight thread in the bobbin. I drew the banner on paper, then put it on a lightbox and traced the reverse onto th eback of the cloth.
All these banners are made from a heavy cotton twill sheet, which I inherited from my great aunt, it has her mother-in-law’s name as a laundry mark, so is probably over 100 years old now!
